This was stated by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Oleksandr Kirilenko, during a hearing on the evacuation of Crimea in the Committee on Human Rights, Dismantling and Reintegration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Reports Crimean Human Rights Group.

“For the Russian army, Crimea has become a major logistics center for an offensive on our territory: the transport of ammunition, the evacuation of the wounded, repairs and restoration, the establishment of bases and warehouses. This has major implications for Russia’s offensive capabilities in a southerly direction. In addition, Russia actively involves the people of Crimea in its armed forces. To date, the arrest of 22 and the death of 139 military personnel of the Russian Federation with a place of registration in Crimea has been confirmed. Some of these soldiers were traitors to the armed forces of Ukraine in 2014,” said Alexander Kirilenko.

The Russian authorities are trying to hide information about the real number of dead and injured from the Russian Federation.

Due to the staff shortage of the Russian army for the war against Ukraine, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a decree on partial mobilization in Russia. Measures to implement the decree will begin on September 21. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said 300,000 reservists would be called up as part of a partial mobilization. According to him, the recruitment will not take place as part of a one-off action. Mobilization will affect 1.1% of the total mobilization resource.

As reported on September 20th The State Duma of the Russian Federation has unanimously adopted in the second and third reading, a draft law introducing concepts such as “mobilization”, “martial law” and “wartime” into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

On February 24, 2022, at 4 a.m., Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the occupied Donbas. Russia launched missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and launched a direct large-scale invasion in four directions. The armed forces of Ukraine reject the enemy, the plan of the blitzkrieg – to take Kiev in two or three days – failed, the Russian army withdrew from the capital. The Russian military is committing thousands of war crimes and crimes against humanity across Ukraine.
