Both India and New Zealand will be wary of the smaller dimensions of McLean Park in Napier, as it is a rugby ground. This makes it even more difficult for the bowlers, as even a miss from the batters can end up in the stands.

But it will also be a real test of character for some world-class bowlers on both sides, as they will have to use variations to ensure they continue to pick up wickets and control the score rate.

On that note, let’s take a look at three bowlers who could have a good outing in the third T20I at Napier on Tuesday:

#3 Mohamed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj has recently found some T20I form with his ability to swing the new ball and nail Yorkers to the death. His performance in the home series against South Africa just before the T20 World Cup helped him get to Australia as a reserve.

Siraj once again capitalized on his opportunity by being the pick of the Indian point guards in the second T20I, picking up a few wickets. If he finds swing from the start, it will be difficult for the Kiwis to get off to a flying start. Siraj also has variants up his sleeve to induce fake shots from opposing hitters to the death.

#2 Yuzvendra Chahal

Another Indian bowler who was impressive in the last match was a leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. The 32-year-old showed exactly what India missed in the T20 World Cup with wickets down the middle.

Breakthroughs from Glenn Phillips and James Neesham dashed New Zealand’s chances of chasing 192. With his experience of playing well on small pitches like Chinnaswamy Stadium, Chahal could prove to be an asset to the Men in Blue.

#1 Tim Southee

New Zealand alternate skipper Tim Southee is the highest T20I wicket-taker at Napier, having bagged five wickets in three games.

In the midst of all the carnage caused by Suryakumar Yadav at the Bay Oval. Southee managed to leave his mark on the game with his second hat trick for New Zealand.

Already the highest wicket taker in T20I right now, Southee’s experience and subtle variations could certainly come in handy as opposing batters will try to go strong with short limits at Napier.
