Russian conscripts, who were subjected to restrictive measures through electronic registration of summonses, were able to cancel the decisions of military registration and enlistment offices, according to the Conscious Objector (DSO) movement.
In early March, human rights activists recorded the first cases of use of force against conscripts through the electronic military registry. Before that, conscripts who did not show up at the military registration and enlistment office when called up were only prohibited from leaving the country.
DSO advised victims to appeal the restrictions imposed on directions Through state services. In the end, this produced results.
One of the conscripts wrote in response to human rights activists: “The Military Registration and Conscription Office lifted the restrictions. I received a notification that the military registration data was changed. I entered the register and there are no summonses or restrictions.”
Another said that he was able to achieve his goal after appearing personally at the military registration and enlistment office: “I appeared at all the summonses, but they still imposed restrictions on me, and today they were actually taken out after another appearance at the military registration and enlistment office.”
At the same time there are failures. In this case, recruits were advised to pursue appeals at the prosecutor’s office level.
The Conscious Objector Movement points out that “over the past week, we have not seen a single case of real implementation of additional restrictions. We only see that military registration and enlistment offices have learned how to enforce them, but they do not always do so in accordance with the law.”
