The mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that at least 44 drones had been shot down as they approached Moscow since midday on March 14.
During the day, it was briefly announced several times on social networks that the air defense systems of the Russian Ministry of Defense had destroyed drones flying towards Moscow. The mayor did not mention anything about the consequences of the attacks.
On Saturday, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced the imposition of temporary restrictions at the airports of Moscow’s air hub: Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky.
