The late philosopher Jürgen Habermas is a Medusa

German philosopher and sociologist Jürgen Habermas died in Starnberg at the age of 96, Suhrkamp publishing house reported.

Jürgen Habermas is Professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and Director of the Institute for Research on Living Conditions in the Scientific and Technological World of the Max Planck Society in Starnberg. He is considered one of the most influential thinkers in the second half of the twentieth century.

Habermas was a representative of the Frankfurt School – the critical theory of modern (industrial) society, a type of neo-Marxism. His most famous works include Structural Change of the Public Sphere (1961) and The Theory of Communicative Action (1981).
