The Russian Consulate General in Isfahan, Iran, announced on Sunday, March 15, the suspension of its work amid the conflict in the Middle East.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reported that the Russian Consulate General building was damaged during the attack on the Iranian Isfahan Province administration on March 8. According to her, during the accident, the windows of the office buildings and residential buildings of the diplomatic mission were shattered, and some employees were thrown back due to the force of the collision. Zakharova stressed that trespassing on diplomatic facilities is a flagrant violation of international law.

Also on March 2, two raids were carried out on Ferdowsi Square in Tehran, 600 meters from the Russian Embassy in Iran. There are dead and wounded among the local population.
