Yaroslav Datsik, the son of Russian MMA fighter Vyacheslav Datsik, has died in a special military operations (SVO) zone in Ukraine. The cause of death was a direct hit from a drone. This came on Sunday, March 15 TASS.
Datsik Sr. himself spoke of the joint decision with his son to serve in the ranks of the 31st Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade. The athlete, known as an active citizen, has been on the front lines several times since the fall of 2023, providing support to military personnel.
Vyacheslav Datsik, now 46, has had an outstanding career in professional sports. He had 15 professional fights under mixed martial arts rules (seven victories, three of them by knockout) and 10 boxing bouts, where he also recorded seven victories, four of which ended prematurely.
