Two men who ran a call center for scammers in Moscow have been arrested

Police officers arrested two young men who were running a call center for scammers remotely. This was reported on Monday, March 16 by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Capital of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the administration, both detainees are 19 years old and citizens of the Saratov region. They serviced SIM boxes in rented apartments in the north-east of Moscow.

The headquarters explained that the detainees were technical specialists. They monitored the operation of GSM gateways and replaced hundreds of SIM cards so that the fraudsters maintained constant contact with the victims. While searching Berezovaya Alley, police found three GSM gateways, three SIM boxes and more than a thousand SIM cards that had been actively used in the past three days.

The administration indicated that couriers bring up to two hundred new SIM cards daily to the call center. It was also proven that the youth had no direct contact with the victims, but only provided technical support to the fraudulent scheme. according to Main Directorate of the Ministry of Interiora criminal case was initiated under the article on illegal use of a subscriber station or virtual telephone exchange.

Earlier, law enforcement officers in the Strinsky district of the Moscow region arrested a 15-year-old teenager who set fire to two gas stations at the request of Ukrainian scammers. First, a fire broke out at a gas station in the village of Pionirsky, and after some time a similar incident occurred in the village of Onofrevo.
