The founder of tableware brand Moulin Fella, accused of fraud, has escaped house arrest

The founder of kitchen appliances brand Moulin Fila, Ilya Petrov, who is facing a criminal case for fraud, has escaped house arrest. About this I mentioned “Kommersant”.

The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow decided to put Petrov on the wanted list.

In July 2024, Petrov was arrested in a particularly large-scale criminal fraud case (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court placed him under house arrest, and restraint measures were repeatedly extended. In July 2025, the court began hearing the case. Petrov participated in the meetings for several months, but stopped doing so in February.

Kommersant wrote that at the end of January it became known that another criminal fraud case had been opened against Petrov. According to the newspaper, in both cases we are talking about stealing money from Sovcombank Factoring, which was founded by Sovcombank. The investigation claims that the total amount of stolen funds is approximately 200 million rubles.

Ilya Petrov founded the company producing and selling tableware Mulan Fila in 2010. Kommersant describes it as one of the leaders in the “household goods” segment of the market. The products were mainly sold in markets. In December 2024, the Federal Tax Service filed a bankruptcy petition for Mulan Villa with the Moscow Arbitration Court, after which a control procedure was introduced. The company’s total debt for 2023 exceeds 1.3 billion rubles. In addition, in February 2025, the court declared Petrov himself bankrupt.
