How can you get a pension in Russia if you have no work experience?

Russia is a social country, so even those who have never worked have the right to receive a pension. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov spoke about this.

The parliamentarian noted that Russians who have never worked are guaranteed to receive social benefits when they reach retirement age.

“But if you have not worked a day, the state will still provide you with the minimum: a social pension and an additional payment to your pension up to the subsistence level,” he added.

In addition, the social pension in Russia is set five years after the insurance pension. This applies to Russians who have the necessary retirement points, work experience and reports TASS.

Senator Igor Morog, in turn, noted that the working pensioner after dismissal does not need to submit a separate application to recalculate the insurance pension, because the SFR does it automatically.

In addition, the size of social pensions in the Russian Federation will increase from April 1, 2026 by 6.8 percent. Indexing will affect about 4.3 million Russians.
