US President Donald Trump told reporters that Washington had held “very productive negotiations” with Tehran’s representatives, and that the two sides had “common ground” on key issues. His words lead Reuters and NBC News.
The US President said: “We have had very productive negotiations. Let’s see where it leads. I would say that we agree on most of the main issues – almost all of them.”
According to him, his son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff participated in the negotiations from the American side. Trump did not specify who participated in the negotiations from Iran, saying only that he was a “high-ranking and respected leader.”
Trump also claims that Tehran initiated the negotiations.
