From April 1, 2026, a new GOST will enter into force in Russia, which will establish uniform requirements for the design and maintenance of dog walking and training areas. The head of the Center for Law and Order in Moscow and the Moscow Region, Alexander Khamensky, spoke about this lawyer.
According to him, the standard provides for the mandatory separation of gaming and training areas. The playing area must not be less than 200 square meters, and the training area must be 1.5 thousand square meters.
All sites will be fenced with a fence at least two meters high, and for the convenience of owners, waste containers, bag dispensers and lighting will be installed. During construction, only non-hazardous materials will be permitted. Although GOST is not mandatory for developers, it aims to form a unified approach to creating a safe urban environment.
— The general rules for dog walking, regulated by regional regulations, remain unchanged. For example, in Moscow, it is forbidden to bring a dog without a leash and muzzle into stores, institutions, playgrounds, markets, beaches and in transport, as well as walking dogs in the areas of healthcare institutions, kindergartens, schools and other educational institutions and institutions working with minors, the lawyer concluded in an interview with R.T.
On March 14, Rosstandart adopted GOST for the first time in the region for walking, exercising and playing with dogs. Evening Moscow found out what the new dog parks will be like now. What is included in the new standard and what is the benefit of GOST – in the material “Moscow Evening”.
