Two drones crashed in Finland, Finnish channel YLE reported.
As the country’s Ministry of Defense stated, before that “several slow-moving objects” were observed in the southeast of the country – in the maritime region and near the border with Russia.
Prime Minister Petteri Orbu said the drones were likely Ukrainian.
“This violation of territorial integrity is very serious. It is possible that these are Ukrainian drones, but the circumstances are being clarified and we will provide details later,” Urbo said.
Recently, the Ukrainian military has been attacking infrastructure in the Leningrad region with drones almost every day. At least three times over the past week, Russia’s largest port on the Baltic Sea, Ust-Luga, has been attacked by drones.
Baltic state authorities reported several times during the week that drones, presumed to be Ukrainian, had flown in their airspace. On the night of March 23, a drone crashed in Lithuania; On the night of March 25, a drone crashed in Estonia and Latvia.
Against the background of these events, pro-Kremlin media and bloggers began to spread information that the Baltic states secretly allowed Ukrainian drones to fly over their territory. The Latvian Ministry of Defense rejected this hypothesis and stated that the Kremlin was conducting a “large-scale coordinated information operation” against the Baltic states.
