A man suspected of having monkeypox was admitted to hospital in Mytishchi. On March 22, the 43-year-old patient felt unwell – his temperature rose, a rash appeared on his body, and the lymph nodes swollen. This was reported by the REN TV Telegram channel on Monday, March 30.
— He said he lives with a 45-year-old man. He was transferred to the same hospital. The statement stated that the investigation is currently underway and contacts of the sick person are being identified. Publications.
A new case of monkeypox was also identified on March 24 in Saint Petersburg. The injured person was taken to hospital and his condition is moderate. Special laboratory tests confirmed that he was infected with monkeypox.
On January 30, a 29-year-old man from Moscow was hospitalized in the Moscow region after complaining of a rash and poor health. Doctors at Domodedovo Hospital diagnosed the man with monkeypox. Later, a resident of the Moscow region was taken to hospital on suspicion of being infected with the same disease. In total, three people were under the supervision of doctors.
The first patient admitted to Domodedovo Hospital with a diagnosis of monkeypox was discharged on February 15. Two days later, the second patient was discharged from the medical facility, and on February 25 – the third. Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Onishchenko then said that the appearance of monkeypox in Russia is typical for this season due to the lack of ultraviolet rays, which is a natural disinfectant.
