The Russian Ministry of Justice added Stanford University to the register of “undesirable” organizations.
As follows from the letter published on the administration’s website, the Prosecutor General’s Office made the corresponding decision on March 26. This was not announced publicly at the time.
Stanford University is among the top 5 universities in the world according to the most authoritative university rankings. Declaring it an “undesirable” organization also means a ban on joint scientific projects of any universities from the Russian Federation.
Previously, other leading US universities, especially Yale University, the University of California at Berkeley, and George Washington University, had already been included in the registry of “undesirable” organizations.
