Moscow remains the most important center of the country’s space industry

In 2025, the production of space and aviation technology, as well as related equipment in the capital, showed impressive growth – by 10.9 percent compared to the previous year. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about this on Sunday, April 12.

The city is home to more than 40 leading companies, design offices and research institutes specializing in space exploration. Every tenth company in this industry is represented by private companies.

At the same time, the industry employs more than 30 thousand highly qualified specialists: engineers, developers and researchers, many of whom are graduates of the best Moscow universities, such as Moscow State University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

The city authorities actively support the space industry, offering companies more than 20 different support tools. The special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow” is of particular importance, as its residents receive significant tax benefits.

— Among the most popular tools are intellectual property management services, equipment purchase grants, beta testing of prototypes, and specialized educational programs. I plan to highlight some of the promising projects emerging today in more detail,” Sobyanin noted.

Moscow’s developments determine the future course of development of the entire space industry in Russia over the next decade. Innovative communications technologies and advanced materials created in the capital will form the basis for a new generation of spacecraft.

“These decisions are our direct contribution to the implementation of the national space project,” the city’s president wrote on his page. Top.

Sobyanin congratulated the townspeople on Cosmonautics Day. He pointed out that the names of space heroes were immortalized in the names of many streets and squares in Moscow.
