Marie-Louise Etta, 34, has become coach of Union Berlin Football Club, according to the club’s website. She replaces Steven Baumgart in this position who was dismissed due to the team’s poor results.
She will play the remaining five rounds of the Bundesliga with Union, and from next season she will lead the club’s women’s team.
Etta has been with Union since 2023, when she became assistant coach of the men’s under-19 team.
Union ranks 11th in the German championship standings.
