This year in Russia, against the background of controlling inflation, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation decided to reduce the key interest rate to 15 percent annually. It entered into force at the end of March.
Reducing the refinancing rate could have a beneficial effect on the economy as a whole. However, there are certain sectors that are likely to benefit more from changing conditions.
We are talking about those industries that are credit-intensive, that is, they require borrowed money to maintain current activities. These include high-tech enterprises, industrial production and young companies.
Among the players of the large business sector, the reduction in the refinancing rate will be relevant for the retail sector (from the English retail – retail trade. – “VM”). Just yesterday, it was not enough for these store chains to expand simply by opening new outlets, because credit lines require very high costs. Financial models simply cannot withstand such conditions. Changing the rate will contribute to a more successful development of the industry.
The updated conditions will also have a positive impact on representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. It is expected that these sectors will receive an incentive to implement new ideas and projects after reducing the refinancing rate.
The maximum advantage is likely to be created for industries that specialize in manufacturing. Because these are the companies that most often operate with leverage.
