The Russian government has approved new rules of conduct at sporting events, which tighten restrictions on inscriptions on flags and fan banners. TASS writes about this.
Previously, flags and banners that insulted the honor and dignity of participants, spectators or competition organizers were prohibited. Now all images and inscriptions that “have the potential to harm” individuals or the commercial reputation of companies are blocked.
The new rules also stipulate that banners must not contain inscriptions or images that are “incompatible with traditional values.”
The list of “traditional values” was approved by a decree issued by Vladimir Putin on November 9, 2022. Among others, it includes concepts such as “service to the homeland and responsibility for its destiny,” “strong family” and “historical memory and continuity of generations.”
