In Russia, the growth of online food sales slowed in the period from January to March 2026, Kommersant newspaper reported, citing calculations by the information and consulting agency Infoline.
According to these data, the turnover of online food trade reached 482 billion rubles, an increase of 23.9% year on year. This is the worst quarter since at least the beginning of 2023: in the first quarter of 2025, sales grew by 26.3%, compared to the previous year – by 55.6%.
Infoline attributed the slowdown in the growth rate of online trade to the fact that costs for retailers are rising, and in some regions of Russia there are communications outages.
The Association of Internet Trade Companies (AKIT) also believes that the number of orders is declining due to mobile Internet outages.
