Rospotrebnadzor has instructed the “Honest Sign” system operator to limit the sale of 64.5 million bottles of Armenian mineral water “Jermuk” in Russia. This was reported on Friday, May 29 by the press service of the administration.
They explained that the basis for restricting sales is the manufacturer’s violation of the mandatory requirements of legislation on technical regulations. Thus, an excess of bicarbonate, chloride and sulfate ions is found in the water, which may lead to misconceptions about the medicinal properties and negatively affect health.
The administration noted that since the beginning of 2026, Honest Sign has stopped selling 38.4 million units of water at retail and online, reports said. RIA Novosti.
On May 22, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the import and circulation of all batches of Armenian mineral water “Jermuk” in Russia. The service explained that these product characteristics do not correspond to the information shown on the label.
At the end of April, the Honest Sign labeling system suspended the sale of Jermuk mineral water. 338 thousand bottles were traded. The reason for the suspension of trading was a letter from Rospotrebnadzor regarding violations of mandatory requirements. Products produced on February 17 and March 5 were banned.
