Residents of Moscow and the region will remember the end of May for the unexpectedly cold weather with strong winds and rain, which replaced the abnormally hot middle of the month. During this period, thermometers fell significantly below the climatic norm. However, after the beginning of the calendar summer, the weather in the metropolitan area will change. What next week will be like, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteorological Center, told Vechernaya Moskva.

According to him, temperatures in the capital region will begin to rise gradually. After a long period of cold weather, the long-awaited warming will come to Moscow and the region.

– The coldest days are behind us. Every day the air temperature will rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius. The expert said that temperatures on May 31 and June 1 are expected to reach about 15-17 degrees, and on June 2 they will be 18-20 degrees.

Starting Wednesday, June 3, temperatures will continue to rise. By the end of next week, thermometers in the capital will reach 23-25 ​​degrees.

As for precipitation, the possibility of rain will continue during the coming days. He added that it will likely happen on May 31. In addition, localized light rain is likely on June 1.

Except for Monday, no rain is expected this week. There will be fewer clouds in the sky, and the sun will illuminate the metropolitan area more often.

– The wind gradually turns to the southwest. It won’t have strong gusts for a week. Atmospheric pressure will begin to rise. This figure will slightly exceed climatic standards, reaching about 750 mm of mercury. “We have passed the stage of hurricanes that hit the city,” Shuvalov concluded.

In turn, the chief specialist at the meteorological office in the capital, Tatiana Pozdnyakova, warned that cold weather, rain and strong winds are expected in the Moscow region this weekend.
