Apricots, cherries and peaches from Armenia are banned in Russia – Meduza

Rosselkhoznadzor has temporarily banned the import of a number of fruits from Armenia to Russia since June 2.

The following has been prohibited:

  • cherry,
  • cheerful,
  • apricot,
  • plum,
  • peach,
  • nectarine,
  • Grapes.

In recent days, Rosselkhoznadzor banned the import of several products from Armenia to Russia, including strawberries, herbs, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and several brands of cognac and wine.

Relations between Russia and Armenia worsened when Yerevan began to establish relations with Western countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Armenia joined the European Union, Moscow would “reduce” all economic integration with Yerevan and stop buying goods from Armenia.
