The Duma adopted, in the second and third reading, a draft law doubling fees for immigration services.
The fee for obtaining and exiting Russian citizenship has increased 12 times – from 4,200 to 50 thousand rubles.
The fee for issuing a residence permit in the Russian Federation increased five times (from six to 30 thousand rubles), for issuing a temporary residence permit – eight times (from 1,900 to 15 thousand rubles).
The fee for attracting foreigners to work has also increased – to 15 thousand rubles per person.
The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation was the first to increase fees. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin explained that in this way the authorities want to “influence the level of visitors.” “This must be an accomplished person who has achieved a lot,” he said of the way the Duma views desirable immigrants.
