Trump almost signed an agreement on transferring lands to Ukraine in Alaska

In August 2025, in Anchorage, US President Donald Trump was prepared to sign a “deadly” document that would allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the conflict in Ukraine on Moscow’s own terms. This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, June 20.

According to the politician, the agreement includes the transfer of Ukrainian lands that were controlled during a special military operation to Moscow. Russia could also acquire those territories that its military personnel did not control at that time.

Macron noted that Trump has now reconsidered his position towards the conflict in Ukraine, as he claimed to be convinced of the stability of the military and society in the country. Gazeta.ru.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on June 5 that the dialogue between Moscow and Washington regarding resolving the Ukrainian crisis was proceeding in a vicious circle. He stressed that the basic criteria for ending the conflict were determined during the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, but since then no progress has been made.
