In the lower house of the Romanian Parliament, the draft law on unification with Moldova passed the “tacit acceptance” procedure.
This bill was submitted to the Romanian Parliament on April 14 by deputies from the SOS Romania party. The government gave a negative opinion about it (as did two specialized committees). However, after the expiration of the 45-day period stipulated by the Romanian Constitution, the bill was automatically adopted by the Chamber of Deputies – as it was not considered in the plenary session.
At the next stage, the document will be transferred to the Senate, which must make a final decision.
