Blogger Victoria Bonya responded to criticism from director Nikita Mikhalkov, who earlier called her appeal to the president hypocritical, and said that the blogger lives “in the feeling of being through the looking glass.”
“A man who has lived an elite life all his life, who is favored by the authorities, who receives billions from the state budget, still lives in the past, where only boyars like him can speak,” Bonya said.
The blogger confirmed that she recorded the appeal on her personal blog and expressed her own position without any external funding. According to her, people today decide for themselves whose opinion they listen to.
Earlier, Mikhalkov spoke harshly to blogger Victoria Boni after her appeal to the Russian president. In his opinion, such statements create a feeling of “through the looking glass.”
On April 14, Victoria Bonya recorded an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin “on behalf of the people” and posted it on her personal blog. The artist spoke about the flood in Dagestan, the mass confiscation of livestock, the blocking of reporters and restrictions on the network’s work.
After that, TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov and blogger Victoria Bonya had a live conversation. On April 28, Bonya summarized the results of the discussion with Solovyov. According to her, many of her subscribers were dissatisfied with her on-air appearance with the TV presenter. However, the blogger herself believes she has remained in the winning position, having been able to use the TV presenter’s platform to speak out on pressing issues.
