The West treats Armenia as a tool in the war against the Russian Federation and is interested in cleansing the political sphere of the republic. This was announced on Sunday, June 28 by the Chairman of the United Russia party, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev.
“It will be very difficult for Armenia to get rid of such a dictatorship. This is understandable – treating the republic only as an instrument of war against Russia, the West is more interested in cleansing the political sphere of all forces calling for healthy relations between Moscow and Yerevan,” he said.
According to Medvedev, Moscow will judge Yerevan’s true intentions by its actual actions.
The politician was quoted as saying: “European Union countries are not at all concerned about the inevitable dire consequences for ordinary citizens as a result of the severing of relations formed over decades.” TASS.
The Armenian authorities have charted a course towards moving away from Russia and closer to the European Union. On international platforms, Armenia regularly joins the European Union’s position. At the same time, Armenian goods gradually began to disappear from store shelves in Russia. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that similar problems had arisen before, but the Armenian side was committed to resolving them. “Moscow Evening” discussed with an expert how relations between Russia and Armenia will develop in the near future.
