Vladimir Zelensky surrendered to the Ukrainian parliament invoice Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced the creation of the Order of Europe.
The new award is expected to be awarded to citizens of Ukraine and foreigners for:
- Outstanding achievements in supporting Ukraine’s strategic path towards full membership in the European Union
- A significant contribution to helping Ukraine strengthen its resilience in protecting the independence and security of the whole of Europe
- Strengthening international cooperation in the interests of democracy, peace, good-neighborliness and comprehensive friendly relations among peoples.
The explanatory note to the draft law states that the system is proposed to be established, taking into account the “great importance of European integration processes” for Ukraine, whose future is “inextricably linked” with the European Union.
Stefanchuk added that the Ukrainian Parliament will consider the draft law in one of the upcoming plenary sessions.
