Investigators in Monaco do not rule out the possibility that the assassination attempt on a former Ukrainian Forbes list member was organized by the Ukrainian Security Service, Le Figaro newspaper reported, citing sources.
According to the newspaper, the attack was likely a “warning” rather than a premeditated murder attempt.
The explosion occurred in Monaco on the evening of June 29. A bomb exploded in the lobby of an apartment building as people entered the building.
According to official information, three people were injured: a man and a woman between the ages of 50 and 60, in addition to a 13-year-old teenager “associated with them.” The Monaco authorities did not reveal their names.
According to media reports, Ermolaev and his relatives were injured. Meanwhile the wife of businessman Anna Ermolaeva I mentioned Ukrainian journalists said she was unharmed – she was not at the site of the explosion. No other details were given about what happened.
The bag containing the bomb was left by a man who has not yet been identified. The alleged perpetrator fled the scene of the explosion. The investigation believes that he fled towards the French town of Beausoleil.
