The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow fined blogger Arsen Markaryan 20,000 rubles, convicting him of incitement to hatred or enmity (Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code). About this I mentioned Press service of Moscow courts.
The reason for drawing up the administrative protocol was Markaryan’s video, in which they found a “disdainful and contemptuous emotional and semantic attitude towards the Russians.” “Media Zone” It is clearthat we are talking about a recording in which Markaryan says that “the Russian people are more animals than other people.”
A video with these words was posted on the Telegram channel of blogger Z Vladislav Pozdnyakov. However, the court decision states that Markarian posted the video himself.
Markarian’s defense indicated that he did not publish this video, and that the video was recorded in 2022, and thus the statute of limitations for the violation had expired. The court stated that the statute of limitations is calculated from the moment the violation was discovered, and this occurred in 2025.
There is a swear word in the next paragraph.
Arsene Markarian is known for his misogynistic statements. He was arrested in August 2025, reportedly while trying to leave Russia. The reason for Markaryan’s arrest was a video clip in which the blogger talks about self-sacrifice and insults Soviet soldier Alexander Matrosov, calling him a “fucker.” The court sentenced him to four and a half years imprisonment in a public order colony.
