The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Evdokimov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic and presented with a note of protest. This was stated in the press service of the Diplomatic Department on Monday, July 6.
“During the meeting, a strong protest was expressed regarding the raid carried out by a drone on the SOCAR gas station in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine on the evening of July 5, and a corresponding verbal note was sent to the Russian side,” the statement read.
They said that the continuation of such incidents, despite repeated warnings, indicates the deliberate nature of the attacks.
The diplomatic department also drew attention to several air strikes that caused damage to the embassy building in Kiev and the honorary consulate in Kharkov. They stressed the need to strictly comply with obligations to ensure the security of diplomatic and consular facilities in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Conventions.
“The Russian side was asked to fully investigate all of the above-mentioned events, provide appropriate explanations regarding the attacks and ensure full compliance with its international obligations to protect civilian objects and diplomatic missions,” the statement read.
