The Omsk oil refinery suspended operations after a Ukrainian drone attack on July 6, Reuters reported, citing sources.
According to the agency’s interlocutors, as a result of the impact, the primary oil processing unit AVT-10 (CDU-10), which represents about 38% of the plant’s capacity, caught fire and was damaged.
Another unit, AVT-11 (CDU-11), which provides 37% of the organization’s capacity, has also been discontinued. This was done due to damage to the infrastructure that supports its operation. The installation may be back up and running within a few days.
As of July 7, as noted by Reuters, the Omsk refinery stopped selling gasoline and diesel fuel on the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange.
The Omsk oil refinery is the largest in Russia in terms of the volume of oil processed. It is located 2,500 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
