Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the Ukrainian army launched 300 drones towards the capital and the Moscow region in one day.
Most of the drones were “neutralized by air defense forces on long approaches,” Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel. According to his data, 45 drones were shot down as they approached Moscow. Shortly after this post, two more drones were reported to have been shot down as they approached the city.
Sobyanin did not report any injuries or damage. No information about this was received from other sources at the time of writing the news.
It was the largest attack on Moscow in terms of damage since the start of the major war between Russia and Ukraine on June 18. Then 17 people were infected in the Moscow region, and an eight-year-old girl died. In Moscow, the Kapotnya oil refinery was damaged. The Moscow oil refinery was also attacked by drones on June 16. As a result of two attacks on refineries, two basic oil processing units were damaged.
At the end of June and the beginning of July, Moscow authorities repeatedly announced that dozens and even hundreds of drones were heading towards the capital. But there was no information about any destruction in Moscow caused by drones.
