A strong flood of the Oy River in the Kurgan region was recorded. Satellite data show that water has already submerged the floodplains, which are up to 3.5 kilometers wide in some areas. Amateur meteorologist Ilya Feinstein reported this on Monday, April 6.
According to observations, the Uy River receives an additional flow of water from the Tobol River. The flows that came from the Ural Mountains and along the Tobol River were almost simultaneous in time, increasing the overall flood level.
Feinstein points out that such a coincidence could lead to a further increase in water levels and an expansion of the flood zone. The situation remains tense: if current weather conditions persist, the risk of deterioration remains, according to reports Ura.ru.
On April 5, in the Derbent region of Dagestan, the dam of the Gedzhukh reservoir burst in some places due to overflowing water, operational services reported.
Due to the risk of flooding in the Derbent region, a population evacuation has begun: the operational services intend to move 4,165 people, including 823 children, to a safe area.
