President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the Russian Federation’s intentions to hold so-called “referendums” in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

BEE video message he said Ukraine’s position is not changing because of the noise or some announcements from the Russian Federation, reports Ukrinform.

“Today there is quite noisy news from Russia. And there are many questions about this. But what actually happened? What was said of what was not heard before? Our positions are clear and known. Sounds somewhere, but what is our task ,’ said the head of the Ukrainian state.

Zelensky called for increased support for Ukraine’s armed forces, intelligence agencies, special operations forces, the security service of Ukraine, the National Guard, the police, border guards — anyone who is gradually restoring the state’s territorial integrity.

“Our positions are not changed by noise or announcements from anywhere,” Zelensky stressed, noting that Ukraine has the full support of partners in this.

He stressed that the authorities inform all topics of international relations about what is happening. “We see understanding not only from our partners, but also those states that tried to stay away from our struggle. Steps will be taken to support Ukraine in such circumstances and important international associations,” the president assured.

The head of state urged us to maintain unity, protect Ukraine, liberate our country and show no weakness.

At the same time, Zelensky thanked all of Ukraine’s friends and partners for the massive, principled, strong condemnation of Russia’s attempts to play another pseudo-referendum.

According to Russian media, the occupation administrations decided to hold “referendums on accession to Russia” from September 23 to 27 in the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine.

Earlier on Tuesday, the chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Viacheslav Volodin said:that it will support the accession of the “DPR” and “LPR” to Russia.

The announcement of “referendums” takes place against the background of a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian army, which ended with the liberation of the areas in the Kharkov region occupied by Russian troops.

Ukraine’s foreign ministry, the Central Election Commission and senior officials have said the so-called “referendums” will have no legal ramifications.
