Donald Trump wrote a post on the social media network Truth Social in which he threatened to “destroy an entire civilization” on the night of April 8, when his final ultimatum against Iran expires.
An entire civilization will perish tonight and never be restored. I don’t want this to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have a complete and comprehensive regime change, in which other, smarter, less radical forces will prevail, perhaps something truly revolutionary will happen. Who knows? We will find out tonight, in one of the most important moments in the world’s long and complex history. 47 years of blackmail, corruption and death will finally end. On April 5, he wrote that Tuesday would be “power plant day and bridge day at the same time” in Iran, calling for the “damn” Strait of Hormuz to be opened. In his next message, he set the deadline as “Tuesday, 8pm EST.” Three o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, April 8, Moscow time. Human rights activists and politicians say targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure would be tantamount to a war crime.
