The investigation carried out by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against 14 suspects, who were detained by the Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate in Mersin during the operations held on different dates, has been completed. Arrested defendants MEM, A.Ş., SM and DB and pending KB, F.Ö., BB, AK, AK, HS and İ.G. An indictment was prepared, demanding a prison sentence of up to 5 years, on charges of ‘propagandizing for a terrorist organization’.

In the indictment, it was stated that the defendants made propaganda for the organization on their social media accounts, had their photos taken under the poster of Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization, shared the members of the organization, their banners and the so-called anthem, and organizational photographs were seized from their addresses.


The other defendants, MY, HS and A.Ö. On the other hand, an indictment was prepared for ‘membership of an armed terrorist organization’, demanding a prison sentence of 7.5 to 15 years. It was stated in the indictment that the defendants attended illegal meetings organized by the terrorist organization, hung Öcalan’s posters, and were in contact with the members of the organization. The indictments were accepted by the Mersin 2nd High Criminal Court.
