“Beautiful view” The Artemis 2 mission crew shared the first photos from their trip to the moon. The astronauts took pictures of the Earth (and of course its satellite), as well as of each other

On the evening of Friday, April 3, at 19:49 EST (April 4, 02:49 Moscow time), the Orion spacecraft successfully completed an acceleration maneuver to enter the path to the Moon. On Monday, April 6, the crew will conduct a six-hour observation session of the lunar surface. In total, the Artemis-2 mission, launched on April 2, will last 10 days – Orion will fly around the Moon and return to Earth. The astronauts will not land on the satellite: their job is to test the ship’s systems and make sure everything works properly in deep space conditions. The crew has already shared the first images of the Earth and the Moon taken from Orion, and also showed how the days pass on the spacecraft. Medusa shows this footage.

People haven’t traveled to the moon in more than half a century (since 1972!) – and finally a new, historic mission Within 10 days, four astronauts will orbit Earth’s satellite and bring people closer to returning to the lunar surface.
