The Economic Security Bureau exposed the attackers who organized the conversion center with a turnover of more than UAH 3.5 billion.

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by BEB news agency.

“Specialists of the Information Analysis and Risk Management Department of the Office of Economic Security of Ukraine exposed the activities of the conversion center. Using fictitious enterprises, the criminal group helped the real sector of the economy to hide and cash in their earnings. The estimated the number of non-cash shadow transactions executed exceeds 3.5 billion UAH,” the message reads.

It is noted that law enforcement officers studied the activities of the State GeoCadastre of one of the districts of the Kiev region and found that officials, abusing their position, committed violations when making decisions on the transfer of plots of land to individuals and legal entities .

BEB specialists, analyzing information about land owners, discovered the activities of the conversion center. To document crimes, eight authorized searches in the village council, office buildings and buildings of the suspects.

In one of the office buildings, 346 stamps belonging to business entities (including non-residents, offshore companies) were seized, the data of which was used to withdraw money abroad, as well as ammunition and explosives. The stamps of charities have also been found, which are already being checked for involvement in theft from charities.

Employees of the BEB and the National Police analyze the documents seized during the search to identify all those involved in criminal activities. Plots with a total area of 209 hectares were arrested by the Kiev court.

As reported, BEB employees have analyzed the activities of more than 5,000 business entities in the past three months. 148 companies were identified that accounted for a negative tax credit due to imported goods balances in 2021. This led experts to suspect the legality of the amounts requested for compensation.
