France are without key striker Karim Benzema as they begin their 2022 World Cup adventure, and the Real Madrid striker may be missing throughout the tournament in Qatar.

Luckily for Didier Deschamps, he has a wealth of options to choose from: wingers like Kingsley Coman and Ousmane Dembele provide the pace, veteran striker Olivier Giroud has a history of helping the national team out of tough situations and , of course, Kylian Mbappe remains editing and shooting.

There remain question marks over the Blues’ midfield, but against Australia they should still have far too much firepower to do anything other than start their World Crown defense with a win.

Australia needed to go through two playoffs to reach the final, one in the Asian qualifying zone and the other an intercontinental game that ended in a penalty shootout.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game.
