Dr. Myasnikov told why his subordinates were fined

General practitioner and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov, speaking to the program “On the Most Important Thing” on Russia 1 channel, said that as chief physician, he fined his subordinates for one specific act. The episode is available on the streaming platform.

According to Myasnikov, he punished employees for prescribing unnecessary tests to patients.

— When I was the chief doctor… I always asked the doctors: “Why did you send someone? What do you want to see?” – “Well, I wanted to see.” “Don’t you want to pay for the research, and return the money spent to the state?”… I imposed a fine on him, Myasnikov said.

He also stressed that doctors should follow clinical guidelines and not give in to requests from patients who, for example, because of headaches, demand to be referred for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head.

Myasnikov, also on the air of the program, spoke about a medical error, which he considered unacceptable.

This is what Alexander Myasnikov described as the nutritional error that leads to excess weight. According to him, an irregular diet, where a person eats chaotically, can pose a health risk.
