The so-called referendums that Russia wants to hold in the occupied territories of Ukraine are, from the point of view of the democratic world, a mockery.

Polish President Andrzej Duda told reporters about this at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Ukrinform reports citing wnp.pl.

As Duda pointed out, there is no need to explain to Polish society “what the Russian-organized referendums in the occupied territories are worth”.

They cost nothing. The truth is that their result is decided in the Kremlin, not during the vote. And it really doesn’t matter how the people who will participate in this “referendum” vote. The result will be as planned in the Kremlin,” the president of Poland said.

He emphasized that from the point of view of the democratic world this referendum – “mocking”.

“And we take it that way. I hope that no one in the international space will give any importance to this, as there is simply no confidence in these actions and results,” the president of Poland said.

He noted that Poland will not recognize the legitimacy of the results of these referendums in the light of international law.

How uinform reported, the head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, called for the accession of the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine to the composition of Russia. Russian media write that the occupation administrations in the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine’s Kherson and Zaporozhye regions have decided to hold “referendums on joining the Russian Federation”.
