During the Assembly, held under the motto “Sow, grow, protect”, his candidacy received 207 votes in favor, 6 against, 5 for and 11 against, the agrarian organization said in a statement.
Pérez Hoses repeats 4 more years as president of Rioja’s main and “largest agrarian organization” with a list of “unity, renewal and experience” made up of 28 professionals in the field, leaders in their sectors, and in which 21 are represented by the municipalities of all regions of La -Riohi.
He announced new mobilizations starting next January “to the point where farmers and ranchers don’t get” with all sectors hit by “a very serious structural and economic crisis.”
As for the future, he said that we must “overcome inflation, the consequences of the war in Ukraine and adapt to the requirements of a new environment characterized by strong taxation, respect for the environment and social obligations.”
RAISE YOUR VOICE AND RESTORE THE ILLUSION
To this end, he vowed to maintain a vengeful stance and in this regard said: “I want the farmers and ranchers of La Rioja to stomp the streets knowing that we are needed. I want to raise my voice. I want to restore the illusion that is so necessary.”
According to Pérez Oses, the solution to the problems of rural La Rioja “goes beyond aid and subsidies.”
He said “we don’t want politicians to take out the checkbook. We are tired of saying this. We don’t want paguitas”, but rather “not to keep running at a loss”.
To do this, he recalled “the measures that his organization demanded to restore the profitability of the sector”, such as effective enforcement of the Food Chain Law, greater flexibility in the application of the new CAP, a shock plan in the face of increased production costs, or control of imports of agricultural products from third countries.
