During visits to regions liberated from Russian occupation, experts uncovered numerous cases of mass killings of civilians. Victims were often tied up before being killed. Now it is about supporting the existing right to asylum and coordinating the next steps “together as Europeans”.

In turn, the Eastern Committee of the German Economy (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) called for the urgent adoption of EU-wide regulations that would simplify, rather than complicate, the entry and exit of Russian specialists to the European Union. to deny Russian nationals whose visas have expired and who have decided to stay. “Since the beginning of Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine, according to current estimates, about 400,000 qualified specialists have left Russia permanently. A number of German companies have supported their Russian workers on this path. This emigration process will accelerate in the short term thanks to partial mobilization, announced by Moscow,” Enrico Rühle, head of the skilled labor working group, said in a statement. “Opening for skilled workers from Russia is clearly in Europe’s interest,” the document said.
