Five released Azov commanders remain in Turkey until end of war – Zelensky

“Ukraine has returned 215 heroes from Russian captivity. We greatly appreciate the contribution of everyone who took part in the rescue of the defenders, and we will never forget it. I sincerely thank Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his leading role in this process. We agreed that the five dismissed commanders of Azov will be in comfortable conditions in Turkey until the end of the war and will be able to see their families. Ukraine, as a token of gratitude for helping our state, has released five citizens of Britain, two from the United States, citizens of Morocco, Sweden from captivity of Russia, Croatia. Thanks for helping Saudi Arabia,” Zelensky said.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine remembers all those in Russian captivity and will do everything in their power to save them.

According to the GUR, more than 700 Azov residents are still in enemy hands.
