Home Internet providers in Moscow offer a “whitelist” system.

Home Internet providers in Moscow are urgently introducing a “whitelist” system, which is already working on the mobile network. Mash reported this on Saturday, March 21.

According to the channel, the corresponding task was assigned to IT specialists at most home Internet operators in the capital.

– The goal is to provide users with the ability to access sites from the “whitelist” in cases of Internet outages. The message says this already works on mobile internet – and in the near future it will work on your wired Wi-Fi network.

However, journalists pointed out that there is a downside to this innovation mashbecause due to the constant need to filter traffic, the overall speed of your home Internet will decrease.

On March 20, Central Bank President Elvira Nabiulin said that when restrictions on Internet access are imposed, all Russian banks must be included in the “white lists” of the Ministry of Digital Development, otherwise this decision will be considered a violation of competition principles.

On March 18, former State Duma deputy Andrey Svintsov said that the “whitelists” would include all everyday online resources, including banking applications, except for those that may pose a threat.
