According to the information on the website of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), a 5.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 04:08, the epicenter of which was the Gölyaka district of Düzce.

AFAD said, “There are power cuts for control purposes in Düzce. We kindly ask our citizens not to panic.”

Kandilli Observatory, on the other hand, revised the magnitude of the earthquake, which it announced as 5.9, to 6.


According to the first determinations, the earthquake lasted about 17 seconds.

Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya stated that after the earthquake centered in the Gölyaka district of Düzce, there were no negative reports from 112 and AFAD headquarters in the city.
