England are touring Pakistan for the first time in 17 years as the two countries play each other in a seven-match T20I series ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia which kicks off in October.

Moeen Ali will captain England for the first few games as Jos Buttler continues to recover from a calf injury, and he said: “It will be memorable to play in front of the Pakistani crowd and also a huge honor to replace Jos and captain England.

England also welcome fly-half Alex Hales who is playing international cricket for the first time since being dropped ahead of the 2019 World Cup for failing two drug tests and losing the captain’s faith of the time, Eoin Morgan.

Pakistan are without left arm Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is recovering from a knee injury but has named two uncapped players – 23-year-old footman Abrar Ahmed and medium-paced all-rounder Aamir Jamal – in Babar Azam’s team.
