There is a shortage of the biosimilar hormonal drug Zyflucort in Russia. According to Kommersant, the drug has disappeared from large pharmacy chains.

The press office of Al-Ragala Pharmacy confirmed to the newspaper that there has been a shortage of the medicine since the beginning of last March, and sales numbers have declined by half compared to the first two months of 2026.

In turn, the manufacturer Pharmasyntez stated that new batches of ZYflucort went on sale on March 2, but they have not yet reached many pharmacies due to increased demand and logistical problems. Rozdravnadzor added that there are about 73,000 packages of the medicine in Russian warehouses, which will soon be sent to retailers.

“Zyflucort” is included in the list of vital medicines. It is also prescribed for Addison’s disease, a rare chronic disease in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough hormones.
